Popeye’s Park

Popeye's Park Boardwalk in Dumfries.
Earlier this year Popeye’s Park Dumfries has become a successful receiver of National Lottery Community Fund for restoration and redevelopment of the Park and the Boating Pond. A new wildlife area is incorporating attenuation ponds, Plaswood boardwalks and bird hides. These have been developed in consultation with the local wildlife ranger and Maxwelltown Secondary School.
The Plaswood boardwalk is submerged under water in rainy seasons and it becomes a viewing walkway in drier weather. Our recycled plastic lumber is rot free, splinter free, maintenance free and will not degrade with time or leach chemicals into the environment, which makes it an ideal and safe building material for wet and marshy environments.
‘We were delighted to be part of this exciting opportunity, that showcases Plaswood’s potential as a building material, offering a sustainable maintenance free solution, that will slash maintenance costs long term.’
